Composite decking is made from a blend of reclaimed wood fibre and recycled plastic, pressed into boards that come wrapped in a protective shell. That shell is the whole point: it's engineered to resist fading, staining, scratching and mould — so your deck keeps its colour and finish for years.
The real difference is in the upkeep. Composite boards never need sanding, staining or sealing. Skip the re-staining every second summer, the popped boards and the splinters that come with treated timber. The maintenance is soap and water once a year — nothing more.
Yes, composite costs more up front than pressure-treated wood. But you pay once, and then you stop paying: no stain, no sealant, no weekend re-finishing jobs, year after year. Most quality composite products carry warranties of 25 to 50 years depending on the line — so you're not just buying a deck, you're buying decades with it looking the way it did the day it was installed.

A modular aluminum screen system built around 3" x 3" posts — end, line and corner kits in 44", 6' and 8' heights — with boards that slide down between the posts on spacers. Because it's modular we can turn a corner, step it down a slope, or stop it dead where it needs to stop, without cutting anything to fit. We use it for the jobs where a full fence is the wrong answer: screening a hot tub or a heat pump, closing off one side of a deck from the neighbours, or making a terrace feel like a room. There's a matching gate kit, a glass panel option, and add-ons like planters, shelves and hooks if you want the screen to earn its keep. Product details on this page come from each manufacturer's own published information. Colours, collections and warranty terms change season to season, so we'll confirm exactly what's current and available when we quote your job.

Where Peak is our aluminum system, Nuvo Iron is what we reach for on a cedar or pressure-treated deck where the railing should read as wood with metal infill. They make powder-coated steel balusters in round, square and rectangular profiles from 26" to 38", plus the connectors, brackets and hangers that tie them into a timber rail properly. They also do complete aluminum deck and stair railing kits in black and white, along with wall-mount handrails and two-to-five step stoop railing kits. Handy for a small front-step job where a full system would be overkill, and for swapping tired wooden spindles on an otherwise sound deck without rebuilding the whole railing.

PVC decking is made from 100% plastic — no wood fibre at all — and that's exactly what makes it behave the way it does. Every board is solid, capped plastic, which means it's completely waterproof and won't rot, warp, cup or split, no matter how much rain or moisture it sees.
The protective cap is the star of the show. It's engineered to shrug off fading, staining, scratching and mould, and it holds its colour far longer than almost any other decking material — even in full sun, year after year. There's no grain to splinter, so it stays smooth and comfortable under bare feet, even on the hottest days.
Maintenance is the same story as composite, and then some: no sanding, no staining, no sealing, ever. The boards never need a drop of oil or a coat of paint. Soap and water once a year is all it takes to keep them looking new. PVC is also naturally slip-resistant when wet, which makes it a great choice around pools, hot tubs and steps.
You pay more up front than pressure-treated wood, but you pay once and then you stop: no re-staining every second summer, no popped boards, no rot, no splinters. Most quality PVC products carry warranties of 25 to 50 years depending on the line — so you're buying decades of a deck that still looks the day it was installed.

Powder-coated aluminum, which means it doesn't rust, doesn't need painting and shrugs off UV. Matte black or gloss white. You can run standard 16 mm pickets, wider 38 mm pickets for a heavier look, or glass — either a 6" glass panel kit or full panes from 18" up to 66" in 3" steps. Glass is deck-only; stairs run pickets, for safety. The reason we keep specifying it: the handrail is carried by the posts rather than by screws, so it stays solid underhand years later. Flush-fitting spacers mean no sharp edges and no pre-drilling on composite decks, and all the fasteners come in the box. Code-compliant, with a lifetime warranty. Peak also make pre-assembled panels that go up around three times faster, worth considering on a long straight run.
